The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Fisheries Division is currently in the process of amending some CT inland sport fishing regulations. A new (as of 6/29/2023) provision of Section 26-113 of the General Statutes of Connecticut require the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to provide to each municipality for possible posting on its website a copy of a notice published in several newspapers throughout the state concerning the public hearing for these regulations. Here’s the relevant text from the statute:
“The Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection, or the commissioner’s designee, shall provide a copy of such notice to each municipality where such waters are located for publication of such notice on the Internet web site of each such municipality”.
Attached is the notice published in the newspapers as well as the full Notice of Intent document as it includes more information concerning the proposed changes to the regulations, including a summary of the proposed changes.
