The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission protects, preserves, and maintains the quality of Killingworth’s wetlands, ponds, and streams and ensures that they will not be damaged by new structures or the construction process.

The Commission enforces the provisions of Connecticut’s Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act. It issues (with terms, conditions, limitations, or modifications as necessary) or denies permits for all regulated activities on inland wetlands and watercourses in the Town of Killingworth, according to Connecticut Statutes, Sections 22a 36-45.

The IWWC normally meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Members are appointed by the Board of Selectmen for three-year terms.
